Penang Thaipusam

Thaipusam in Penang is celebrated not only by the Indians who are Hindus, it is also celebrated by other races. Over the years, more and more Chinese are carrying the kavadis and also pray to Lord Murugan.

CJ Lilian who was at the Western Road/Waterfall Road Thaipusam stalls notice that PKR, DAP and even HRP/Hindraf have their refreshment stalls/booths. She talked to N. Ganesan who is Hindraf advisor to find out the objective of HRP at the Thaipusam.

CJ Lilian also asked a group of Chinese men why they take part in the Thaipusam and discovered that many of them had carried the kavadis for 7 to 8 years.
